Court Adjourns Kidnapping Case against Warri Chief
A Benin high court has adjourned the kidnapping and murder case involving a prominent Warri chief, Chief Atseleghe, who is the Iyatsere of Warri bothering on conspiracy, kidnapping and murder of Sunny Etchie a youth leader in Kolokolo community.
The chief who is being tried alongside eleven others has been in the custody of the police since they were declared wanted and arrested by the Edo state police command.
The case which was in criminal Court 1 was reassigned to criminal Court 4 due to the alleged position of Justice Efe Ikponmwonba.
The lawyer holding brief for the complainant Barrister Mathew Edaghe spoke on the reasons behind the adjournment.
It will be recalled that Late Sunny was murdered in the Delta/Edo boundary community of Ologbo by unknown persons after abducting him for days, while his family members are pointing accusing fingers at the Warri chief and eleven others presently in custody.
