CCB Summons Interior Minister Over Alleged Breach Of Conduct Code.

The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has invited the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, over alleged breach of code of conduct for public officers.

It was gathered that the CCB invitation is in respect of the scandal rocking the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in which the name of the Interior Minister featured prominently.

The letter of invitation by CBB dated January 10, 2024, states that Tunji-Ojo’s invitation was in pursuance to the mandate and powers of the Bureau as enshrined in the Third Schedule, Part I, Paragraph 3 (e) to the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.

The letter of invitation was signed by the Director, Intelligence, Investigation and Monitoring, Gwimi S. P.
The Minister, it was gathered, is to appear before the Bureau on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at its headquarters located at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Abuja.

It will be recalled that the minister has been in the news recently on alleged breach of Code of Conduct for Public Officers, particularly, conflict of interest in the execution of contract awarded to a company belonging to him by the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs.

A Company named New Planet Projects, allegedly belonging to the Minister, benefitted from the alleged contract of social register from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.

The Head of Press and Public Relations, Kato Veronica, confirmed the invitation of the minister, stating that it was in line with the mandate of the Bureau
