NASS promises to support the Military
The National Assembly has declared it's readiness to support the Military in fulfillment of its constitutional mandates and for safety of all Nigerians.
The Senate President, Godwill Akpabio gave the assurance while fielding questions from Journalists in Abuja.
Galxy Tv reports that Akpabio, who was flanked by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa stated that the President and the National Assembly are very determined to give the Military all the resources they need to beef up their number, as they lack enough strength to combat insecurity.
He promised that the government would do everything to provide not just the funding for the equipment but for extra personnel adding that, this has already been catered for in the 2024 budget.
On his part, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, said the government is ready to support the Military including all security agencies adding that, the arm forces cannot do it it.
He maintained that the Arm forces and other security agencies could make mistakes but promised that, such would not be deliberate.
