Eguavoen: Mikel and Moses’ return will brighten Super Eagles chances of beating Cameroun

Erstwhile Super Eagles coach Austin Eguavoen believes Nigeria can surmount the daunting task of ensuring Cameroun bite the dust in September 1 Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers if the duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Kenneth Omeruo can sort out their club futures in good enough time to be mentally ready for the big match.

Nigeria rekindles its age long rivalry with Cameroun in a double-header World Cup qualifiers billed for the magnificent Godswill Akpabio International stadium, Uyo and Eguaveon is of the opinion that Rohr's men have a good chance of nicking all three points if invited players hit camp early to prepare for the epic clash.

the former Sunshine Stars FC of Akure coach posited that the cheering news of John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses' availability for the epic clash has given him cause to believe in the 'Operation Beat Cameroun' project, adding that the absence of these two experienced players was felt against South Africa.

Nigeria lead the group with six points from two matches after defeating Zambia 1-2 in Ndola and Algeria 3-1 in Uyo while Cameroun trail behind with two points from two games. Zambia and Algeria occupy third and fourth spot on the log with one point apiece. A win for Nigeria in Uyo will see Rohr's men inch closer to the World Cup in Russia.
