Buhari sends evidence he's alive
President Muhammadu Buhari has provided pictorial evidence to show he is hale and alive.
This became imperative in order to dispel the rumour of his alleged demise which has been grabbing news headlines.
President Buhari on Sunday, via his twitter handle released a picture of himself relaxing in a living room (United Kingdom): watching 'Sunday Politics', a popular show anchored by Seun Okinbaloye of Channels TV.
''Wherever I am, I keep up with news from home. Channels TV is one of my favourites. I'm proud of what the Nigeria media are achieving, '' the tweet reads.
To substantiate this caim, Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo also tweeted a message indicating he had a conversation with the president
'Spoke tonight on phone with President @MBuhari who's on vacation, reviewing local and other developments including Gambia's situation'' the tweet reads.
The presidency had earlier debunked the rumour through separate tweets posted by Femi Adesina, the special adviser on media and publicity to the president and Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant on media and publicity to the president.
Adesina prayed for those who carry evil rumours to receive grace to repent.
“Best wishes to all who wish PMB well. As for those who carry evil rumours, may they receive grace to repent.”
Shehu, in a separate tweet had clarified that the “The president cannot be holidaying in the United Kingdom and be in Germany, dead or alive at the same time. ” He added that Buhari “was unlike a past president who was at Ota with Chief Obasanjo and attending the Trump inauguration in Washington DC, being in two places at the same time.”
President Buhari departed Nigeria on Thursday, January 19, for United Kingdom on a short vacation.
