Fayose Presents 2015 Budget To Ekiti State House Of Assembly
Ayo Fayose, Governor of Ekiti State on Monday presented a Budget of
over eighty billion naira to the State house of Assembly for the 2015
fiscal year.
The Budget which was christened `Budget of Reality' was presented to
the PDP caucus in the house, as the 19 APC lawmakers out of the 26
members were absent during the presentation.
The presentation of the 2015 Appropriation bill to the State Assembly
is coming barely a month after the PDP lawmakers impeached the former
speaker, Adewale Omirin.
As usual Journalists particularly the electronic media were not
allowed to capture the proceeding. Presenting the Budget to the house, the Governor Ayo Fayose told the PDP lawmakers that the budget was meant to alleviate the suffering of
the downtrodden in the state.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the budget presentation, Fayose
said the state government will obtain an internal loan in form of bond to
address some of the challenge the people are faced with.
On the absence of the 19 APC lawmakers during the Budget presentation,
the Speaker, Dele Olugbemi and the leader of Business, Samuel Ajibola
said what matter was that the quorum was formed at the sitting.
Meanwhile, over N48 billion has been earmarked for the recurrent
expenditure while N31.9 billion will go to capital expenditure in the
2015 fiscal year in Ekiti State
