Dickson blames politicians for unrest in Bayelsa

Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson has melted blames on politicians for being behind the recent clashes involving security agencies and youths of Amasoma community in the state, which led to the killing of two persons with several injured.

The governor made the disclosure while receiving stakeholders from the university community of Amasoma who came to brief him on the return of peace to the community.

Addressing the gathering which includes traditional rulers, youths, and elders of the community, Governor Dickson denied ordering the killing of anyone in the university community.

Fielding questions from newsmen, the two traditional rulers in the community called on fleeing residents to return, as the Governor blamed politicians for the crisis.

It will be recalled that youths and elders of Amasoma community had last week barricaded the Niger Delta University, in protest over the public service reforms by the Bayelsa state governor saying it was meant to witch-hunt their people.
