Wike calls for end to killings
Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike has called on the federal government to do the needful in putting an end to the killings across the country.
Wike declared that most Nigerians are unhappy with the direction that the country is heading, under the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), especially the unending killings and shedding of innocent blood across the country.

Speaking during the 2018 Armed Forces and Remembrance Day celebration in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital, Governor Wike said President Muhammadu Buhari must take steps to give every section of the country a sense of belonging in order to entrench peace in the country.

Governor Wike warned that Nigerians must never forget to draw lessons from the trials and experience of the civil war, to avoid making mistakes that will push the country into another conflict.

Meanwhile, some members of the Nigerian legion lamented over the unfair treatment they get from the Nigerian government, especially those of them who fought during the civil war.

The event witnessed the usual laying of the wreath and the twenty-one gun salute, as a mark of respect to the fallen heroes while Governor Wike, however, commended the President for efforts aimed at tackling internal insecurity challenges, particularly attempt to free the North-East from the scourge of Boko Haram Insurgency.
