Wakili: Police Confirm Arrest of Three Suspects
Authorities of Oyo State Police Command have confirmed the arrest of three persons who captured suspected notorious herdsmen in Ayete, Wakili.
The Command in a statement issued on Sunday evening by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Olugbenga Fadeyi a group of Oduaa People Congress members invaded Kajola Community in the Ibarapa axis during which the house of Wakili in question was set ablaze.
The command in the statement claimed that while a female, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, was burnt in the fire and Wakili 75-years-old and blind, with two (2) other persons were picked up.
Police said three members of OPC are presently in custody while the Commissioner of Police has directed that Wakili, due to his frail appearance and state of health, be moved to the Hospital.
The statement revealed that others were arrested for their involvement in arson and murder.
The Command vowed not to be derelict in its duty to bring to book criminal elements arrested for any infringement on the laws of the land as adequate security measures are in place against anything untoward while soliciting credible information from members of the public to enable the Police and other Security Agencies clampdown on crime and criminality in the State.
