Sowore, Others Arraigned, Remanded in Kuje Prison
An Abuja Magistrate Court has ordered the remand of online publisher Omoyele Sowore in Kuje prison pending hearing Tuesday on his application for bail.
Sowore, a former presidential candidate along with four others were arraigned Monday at the Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja on three-count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly, and attempting to incite others.
Galaxy's Godfrey Eshiemoghie reports that this comes on the heels of their arrest by the police for leading a protest against bad governance on New Year’s Eve in Gudu area of Abuja.
In his chat with newsmen, Mr Sowore restated media reports that he and four others were detained at a facility of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit in the capital city where there were allegedly assaulted while in custody.
