Robbery: UI assures of adequate security
Following recent cases of armed robbery in some halls of residence of the institution, authorities of the University of Ibadan have assured students and parents of adequate security on campus.
Recall that some hoodlums, a month after a female hostel located in Awo hall was attacked by armed bandit, invaded the Abdusalam Abubakar female hostel in the early hours of yesterday injured some students and carted away some valuables.
The vice-chancellor of the institution, Prof. Idowu Olayinka while speaking with journalists on the incident confirmed that two students were injured during the Sunday's attack adding that the victims have been discharged from hospital.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that Prof. Olayinka disclosed that the management has embarked on a review of security arrangement on campus with a view of finding lasting solutions to the problem.
He called on students and parents to remain calm adding that the situation is under control.
