Scores of commuters seeking to enter Oyo from Lagos state were stranded at Onigari village a boundary route between the two states.

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of zone 11, Bashir Makama who led his team on enforcement of restriction of movements called for the establishment of mobile court by the state government for the speedy trial of defaulters.

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of zone 1, Bashir Makama has been to Osun, Ondo to monitor the level of compliance to the restriction of movement imposed by governments in those state.

The visit to Oyo state started at Asejire, the boundary between Oyo and Osun states where Makama charged officers of duty to be civil in the approach.

He also visited the boundary between Oyo and Ogun States at Bakatari before the delegation moved to Onigari village, the boundary between Oyo and Lagos States.

Here scores of commercial vehicles including trucks coming from Lagos were prevented from entering Oyo state by security agencies.

Makama who expressed dissatisfaction with the development ordered the vehicles to return to their base.

He stressed the need for Nigerians to obey all guidelines and directives by the Centre for Disease Control in an attempt to curtail the spread of coronavirus.

Makama also visited the scene of the fire disaster in Ogunpa area of Ibadan where he condoled with victims of the unfortunate incident. He appealed to traders to always be conscious and observe all security tips.

Addressing officers and men at the Command headquarters, the AIG stressed the need for them to step up their activities especially at this period.

He restated the commitment of the police to ensure the security of lives and property now and beyond.
