Oyo State Government has reaffirmed its commitment towards ensuring a more steady supply of quality seeds to farmers, promote food security and sustained Agricultural development. To achieve this, Oyo state government have resuscitated its moribund State Seed Coordinating committee .

Speaking at the event Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Olasunkanmi Olaleye says the initiative seeks to underscore the importance of using Agriculture to drive economic growth and reduce poverty.

According to him the resuscitation of the moribund seed coordinating committee is a significant milestone and a critical step towards revitalizing Agricultural productivity aimed at ensuring food security and improving the livelihood of farmers.

Speakers at the inauguration recognize the importance of Agriculture in driving economic growth and reducing poverty, the mandate is for members of the committee is to make an encompassing seed multiplication extending to both crop cultivation, livestock farming and other critical sectors across the Agric value chain.
