Oyo CP Vows to Deal Decisively with Hoodlums
The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu, has read the riot act to hoodlums in the state who have not stopped killing of his men and destruction of public and private properties.
Enwonwu, in a statement by police public relations officer, Fadeyi Olugbenga, a copy of which was made available to our Correspondent in Ibadan lamented what he called premeditated attacks on police personnel, carting away of arms and ammunition, looting/destructions to government properties by these unscrupulous criminal elements of progress.
Enwonwu solicited the collaboration and partnership with the members of the public who have credible information on these lootings or have seen such properties mentioned above in the custody of these suspected hoodlums and criminals element to report same immediately to the nearest Police Station or arrest and hand over to any security agencies close by for necessary action.
He enjoined all critical stakeholders including traditional rulers, Community/religious leaders, leaders of thought, parents/guardians among others to continue to have dialogue while he appealed to the youths to desist from acts that could lead to the breakdown of law and order in the State.
The Commissioner of police further stated that the Police in Oyo State will not fold its arms and allow criminal elements and social miscreants to continue to shed innocent blood in the name of protest and carry out their evil intentions.
