Three construction workers kidnapped in the Akoko area of Ondo State have regained their freedom.

This is coming after residents of the state asked security agencies to beef up security in border communities in the Akoko axis of the state.

The three workers were kidnapped last Tuesday while working at a construction site in Akunnu-Akoko and Ikaram-Akoko areas of the State.

They regained their freedom after spending four days in the den of the kidnappers.

Spokesman of the state police command, Tee Leo- Ikoro confirmed the release of the kidnapped workers to galaxy news.

The command identified boundary communities as some of the areas, where kidnapping is striving. 

Meanwhile, residents of the state believe that government needs to be more proactive in tackling rising cases of kidnapping.

The kidnapped construction workers are currently undergoing medical check-up and also reunited with their families.
