Obasanjo Calls for Stronger Synergy between Politicians and the People
Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has called for a stronger synergy between political leaders and the people to collectively address some of the challenges facing the nation.
Obasanjo made the call on Thursday in Ibadan after paying a courtesy visit to Governor Seyi Makinde at the Agodi Governor's office.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that the former President explained that apart from security challenges, the country is also undergoing unstable political leadership, economic challenges and other concerns, calling on Nigerians to be united in effecting a positive change out of the country's current narrative.
Obasanjo noted that he was impressed by stories of development in the state particularly in Oke Ogun region of the state, promising to keep abreast of happenings.
Earlier, Governor Seyi Makinde appreciated the visit and commended Obasanjo for his fatherly role at all times.
He explained some of his policy thrust especially agriculture which he said would move the state from depending on Federal allocation.
The Governor equally promised to regularly visit the former President for direction and counsel on policies of governance.
