The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, has emphasized on the need for effective leadership in the country, stressing that such is crucial for the management and utilization of the nation’s natural and human resources.

The NYCN said this in a statement on Tuesday signed by its President, Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo on the occasion of the Nigeria’s 64th Independence anniversary celebration.

The National youth council stated that it is imperative for leaders at all levels to approach their roles with integrity, transparency, and a commitment to justice.

The Council maintained that it is only through honest and equitable governance that Nigeria can hope to rise and take its rightful place among the global community.

NYCN noted that, active involvement in nation-building  will allow young people to contribute meaningfully to society, as they represent the driving force behind the transformative changes Nigeria seeks.
