Oyo state command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Agro Rangers and Arms squad stationed in Iseyin have arrested 5 illegal miners following a tip-off by the intelligence unit of the Division.

The suspects were arrested while working at an illegal mining site in Iseyin local government area of the state.

The Commandant, Iskilu Akinsanya disclosed that the suspected illegal miners were arrested after they successfully loaded a full truck of Green Iveco Trakker 420 with Precious stone known as (TALC), while the second Iveco white 682/380 with registration number FST 505 XV has been filled.

He added that the 5 suspected illegal miners would be charged to court as soon as the investigation on the matter is completed 

Akinsanya warned those who might want to engage in similar activities to obtain the necessary license before venturing into such business.

Commandant Iskilu Akinsanya enjoined the citizens to support the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps by giving timely information of any suspicious movement in their vicinity to NSCDC or other security agencies in the state.
