New AIG takes over duty in Bayelsa

A new Assistant Inspector General of police has taken over the zone 16 headquarters in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital. The AIG Adebola Hazmat an indigene of Ifelodun local government area of Kwara state, has served in different capacity in the Nigerian police force, with his recent assignment being the immediate past AIG in charge of counter terrorism unit of the Nigerian police force Oyo state command.

In a statement by the zonal police public relations officer SP Ewhoborwo Emomena, AIG Hamzat is a seasoned officer of repute and a distinguished fellow of the defence college. According to him, the new AIG is a well known investigator and intelligence professional whose operational experience and core intelligence abilities earned him commendable duty tours in the United Nations missions in Kosovo.

The zonal PRO also called for full cooperation and supports of the good people of Bayelsa, and Rivers state, to enable him bring to bear his extensive knowledge and proven skills in policing, in line with the Inspector General of police agenda. The new AIG is the 9th zonal commander of zone 16 as he takes over from the now retired AIG Paul Omata.
