Investment Security tribunal workers call for sack of chairman
Staff of Investment Security Tribunal (IST) have called for the immediate sack of Idoko Akoh, the chairman of the organisation, alleging illegality in the running of its affairs.


The staffers, under the auspices of Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Servants, Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE) stormed Federal Ministry of Finance to register their grievances today in Abuja 
 
The protesters were seen carrying placards with various inscriptions "Akoh must go" chanting protest songs as they barricaded the finance ministry.  
 
The protesters said they have lost confidence in Mr Idoko Akoh alleging highhandedness in managing the organization. 
 
The aggrieved protesters, speaking through the state chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Aliyu Maradun, accused Mr Idoko Akoh of illegality, highhandedness in the Investment Security Tribunal. 
 
 
According to the protesters, the industrial crisis in IST is worsening by the day while the violation of due process and extant laws, and regulations by the chairman and his cabinets have become recurring decimals. 
 
The protesters were later addressed by the representative of the minister, Zainab Ahmed, Mrs Siyanbola Olubunmim assuring them that steps would be taken to address their demands.
 
She also assured the protesters that their grievance will not be swept under the carpet. 
 
 
The Director of Finance then urged the protesters to be law abiding in discharge of their duties. END!!!
