The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has given institutions a one-month ultimatum to disclose all candidates illegally admitted prior to 2017.

The board warned that admissions not disclosed within this timeframe will no longer be recognized.

GALAXY TV reports that the JAMB Spokesman, Dr Fabian Benjamin, at a press conference in Abuja on Sunday stated that the board has discovered widespread falsification of records by institutions to facilitate illegal admissions.

He emphasized that institutions must comply with the directive, as the board would no longer accept cases of unrecorded candidates.

Additionally, Dr Benjamin expressed concern over the new trend of a strange admissions-practice labeled as Daily- Part-Time (DPT) by certain polytechnics and Top Up (TU) by some universities
He maintained that none of such programmes has been approved by National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) nor by National Universities Commission (NUC) saying both are also alien to the education system in Nigeria.
He stressed that part-time programs are strictly regulated and must be conducted on a part-time basis, distinct from full-time programs.

The Board directed Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic to immediately retract its misleading advertisement published in the Tribune Newspaper on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
