Considering the pains and hardship current socioeconomic, political and security challenges have put before some women who have lost husbands and the most vulnerable; some humanitarians have appealed to government at all levels as well as well meaning Nigerians to show appreciable concerns. 

 

 

They stated this while celebrating  with over a hundred widows drawn from fifteen communities in Obafemi Owode local government area of Ogun State. 

 

Cash, raw food stuff as well as household items were gifted to them in the spirit of the season by the right group. 

 

According to the Convener,  Babatunde Adeyemo, the country’s economic situation can be an overwhelming experience for most vulnerable because of unbearable level due to isolation, and other extraordinary pressures that are often overlooked.

 

Meanwhile, others called for an action to raise awareness of the plight of widows and their children, aiming to restore their human rights as well as real empowerment to help take then out of poverty.
