FG Partners World Bank for Quality Education

As part of measures to improve the standard of education in Nigeria, the Federal Government has partnered with the World Bank through Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity (HOPE). At a meeting held in Abuja on Thursday, the Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman led the Federal Government team while the team of the world Bank was led by Scherzarad  Latif, Practice Manager, Education, World Bank, West Africa.

 

Galaxy TV reports that the Minister in his remarks at the end of the closed door session disclosed that the meeting consulted on some the issues on improving quality access to address teachers support and development as well as to also support out of school, which are all major areas of concern for Nigeria as a country.

 

Responding, the Practice Manager, Education, World Bank, Scherzarad Latif commended the initiative of the Tinubu's led administration in the area of Education stating that, the team will review and discuss some of the lessons learnt in the past 15 years of programming as well as working with the Ministry in preparing the next programmes. The initiative has been designed to address quality education, teachers education development and out of school cases.
