EFCC recovers N700 billion
Officials of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), Kano North West zonal office, ha revealed that the anti-graft body, recovered N695, 261,251,396 billion between July 2016 and July 2017.
The anti-graft agency also disclosed that It has recorded 24 convictions, within the period under review.
The head of operations of the commission in the zone, Adamu Hamisu Dan Musa, made the disclosure to newsmen in Kano. Adamu Hamisu Dan Musa said, over 366 billion naira was recovered within six months from cases reported by individuals, cooperate bodies and INEC, as well as whistle blowers.
He said it had recovered within the last one year, over N328.9 billion out of N349.8 billion debts from nine major petroleum marketers who were conniving with NNPC officials to sabotage the country’s economy. He listed the defaulting Oil major marketers to include, Conoil PLC, Mobil PLC, Total PLC, and MRS Oil PLC, among others.
