Buhari pens birthday wishes to Jonathan
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, November 20, took out time to celebrate the former president, Goodluck Jonathan on his 61st birthday.
The president, in his tweet on Tuesday morning, joined millions of Nigerians in sending warm greetings to the former President.
According to the president, the life journey of the former president remains an inspiration to every young Nigerian of the possibilities that await anyone willing to learn, work hard and participate in making the country great.
President Buhari congratulated the former president on the publishing of his memoir, “My Transition Hours”, which would be launched as part of the ceremonies marking his birthday.
He, therefore, encouraged Nigerians to follow the same example of sharing their experiences in writing.
In his birthday tweet to Jonathan, the incumbent president wished the former president all the very best in life and went further to extend prayers to his family members as well.
"Happy Birthday to former President Dr. @GEJonathan. I join millions of Nigerians in sending warm greetings to him as he turns 61 today. I pray that the Almighty God will grant him long life and good health, and continue to bless him and his family."
In his subsequent tweet, Buhari urged all Nigerians to participate in the deliberate efforts towards building a new Nigeria for all.
"As I always say, we have no other country but Nigeria. Let us not set it ablaze because of politics or sectional interests," his tweet reads.
