Breaking: Police Council Confirms Baba as IGP
The Nigerian Police Council has approved the appointment of Usman Baba as Inspector General of Police.
Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, confirmed the development at the end of the one and half hours meeting of the council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa Abuja, Friday
Alhaji Dingyadi said the acting IGP was unanimously confirmed by the members of the council.
President Buhari had on April 6th, while in France for an economic meeting with President Emmanuel Macron, appointed Mr. Usman Baba as acting the Inspector General of Police.
The minister said the president directed the new IGP to ensure insecurity is brought to the barest minimum.
Baba was a Deputy Inspector General of Police before his promotion.
