Alleged Economic Sabotage : Senate, Reps to Jointly Probe Oil and Gas Industries
Indications from the Senate suggest that the Ad-hoc committee set up by the upper chamber to investigate an alleged Economic Sabotage in the Nigerian oil and gas industry has not abandoned the probe as recently reported in some media platforms.
This is as the Chairman of the Committee and Leader of the Senate, Michael Bamidele, presented a motion at plenary on Thursday to rescind the earlier decision on the matter.
Bamidele through his motion explained that the the House of Representatives has also set up a similar ad-hoc committee to investigate the same issue.
He noted that it now became imperative for both the red and the green chambers to work together in probing the issue of sabotage in the oil and gas industry.
After the Inauguration of the joint ad hoc committee, it is expected that the investigation into the alleged economic sabotage in the Petroleum industry kick starts immediately.
