Akpabio tasks APC to take over Edo
Ahead of the next September Governorship election in Edo State, the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio has said the ruling All Progressives Congress would take the state from the main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Senator Akpabio made the declaration on in Abuja, when the APC national vice chairman, South-South, Victor Giadom, led the zonal leadership to the Senate President on a solidarity visit.
Senator Akpabio, who recalled the defection of the incumbent Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, to the PDP before the last governorship election in 2020, said the APC was determined to get back what belongs to it
The Senate President told the zonal leadership of the party that they must ensure that the south-south region gives massive support and votes to Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, having secured the exalted seat of Senate President in the zone.
Senator Akpabio disclosed that all Senators from the south south have resolved to work together with other members of the National Assembly for the actualisation of the renewed Agenda of the Bola Tinubu led administration towards creating a new lease of life for the masses.
Leader of the delegation and Zonal Chairman, Victor Giadom, urged members of the National Assembly to work in unison with President.Tinubu for rapid socioeconomic development in Nigeria.
