34 Terrorists, Six Soldiers Killed In Recent Damboa Attack, Says DHQ

The Defence Headquarters has confirmed the killing of 34 terrorists and 6 personnel in an attack on military Base in Sabon Gari Village of Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

A statement issued by the Director Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba on Wednesday, stated that the attack was an attempt to surprise troops and retaliate the recent killing of their commander and combatants by troops.

Gen. Buba noted that the battle damage assessment revealed that several terrorists were killed and weapons recovered including 23 AK 47 with over 200 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunitions.

He added that the names of killed-in-action personnel are withheld to allow administrative procedures of notifying their Next of Kin in due time.

The statement further reassured the armed forces’ commitment to defeating the terrorists and ending insurgency and terrorism in the country.
