COVID-19: UCH Doctor, Others test Positive

Oyo State has recorded 10 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the number of active cases in the state to 20.

Governor Seyi Makinde disclosed this via a post on Twitter monitored by our Correspondent.

According to the Governor, a doctor with the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, an official from the Department of State Services (DSS) and six Togolese nationals are among the new confirmed cases.

He stated that the results of pending COVID-19 confirmation tests carried out in the have been received. 

Makinde revealed that the two tests came back positive late last night, one from a UCH doctor who returned from Kano and another is a worker with the State Security Service.

He added that the case recorded in Lagos which was announced yesterday and another confirmed case recorded in Kano is also being managed in Oyo State. 

This brings the number of active cases in Oyo State to twenty. Residents are advised to take advantage of the provision for testing for COVID19 and as well continue to observe all directives from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
