Wife Stabs Husband Dead for Impregnating Mistress in Ogun
Operatives of Ogun Police Command have arrested a 47-year-old housewife, Olanshile Nasirudeen for allegedly stabbing her husband, Jimoh Nasirudeen, to death in Ijebu-Ode, for impregnating his mistress.
It was gathered that the suspect who is the fourth wife to the 51-year old husband was arrested, following a distress call received by the Divisional Police Officer at Obalende divisional headquarters, Ijebu – Ode.
The suspect, a co-butcher with the deceased, reportedly sighted her husband’s mistress at the abattoir and challenged her (new lover) for getting pregnant for the man.
This, it was learnt, led to a heated argument between the deceased and his fourth wife who grabbed a knife and allegedly stabbed the husband in the leg, cutting off a vein.
The husband was reportedly rushed to a nearby hospital for first aid and later transferred to Ijebu- Ode General Hospital, where he died from ‘excessive bleeding’.
The spokesman of the command, Abimbola Oyeyemi told newsmen on Thursday in Abeokuta that following the distress call, the DPO Obalende division, Murphy Salami, led his men to the scene, but the suspect had fled before their arrival.
Oyeyemi said the suspect was subsequently arrested in her hideout at Mobalufon area of Ijebu – Ode.
Oyeyemi said the remains of the husband had been released to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic rights after an autopsy had been carried out.
He quoted the Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun to have ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, for discreet investigation and prosecution.
