Dapo lam wins Ibadan Northeast/ Southeast APC Reps Ticket
There was tension in Egbeda /Ona Ara Federal Constituency as security men sealed off the Secretariat of the All Progressive Congress in the Area on Sunday. Recall that the conduct of the House of Representatives in the constituency has been a deadlock for the past three days following unrest and agitation among delegates for the election. Security men were seen at strategic locations within and around the secretariat of the party while delegates and other party faithful stayed at a distance from the area arguing on the issue of the list.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that policemen from the state Police Command, Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and men of Amotekun corp were deployed to the area while delegates were denied access to the secretariat. The bone of contention among members of the party is the issue of authentic delegates lists. Delegates loyal to Akin Alabi are in support of lists submitted for the election while delegates for other contestants faulted the authenticity of the delegate lists for the poll.
Some Chieftains of the party who spoke with Journalists expressed dismay at the development while they maintained that without the authentic delegate lists, the election will not hold. Other called on the national leaders of the party to do the needful on time before the situation gets out of hand.
In another development, Adedapo Lam-Adesina has won the All Progressives Congress, APC, a ticket for the Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives. The youthful politician, who represented the zone between 2015 and 2019, had 81 votes, defeating Semih Alao 25, Ibrahim Iyiola 5, and Adetunji Shakira 6.
