The Nigeria Referees Association has said 488 referees failed NRA examination while it has promoted 862 referees.

Secretary-General  of the NRA Moroof  Oluwa said  the association would continue to evaluate the performances of referees periodically.

He  urged the promoted referees to continue to ensure fairness in officiating football matches.

Meanwhile,  the immediate past President of the NRA Ahmed Maude says the body will soon begin the screening of match officials ahead of the 2017/2018 league season.

On how referees could improve on the quality of officiating in the NPFL, Maude said the NRA was making efforts to ensure good refereeing in the league.
