Northern Elders Forum Says Rate of Insecurity Now High
The northern elders' forum has described the high rate of insecurity in the region as alarming, saying that communities and their properties are no longer safe.
The forum noted that armed gangs now invade towns and villages at will leading to loss of lives and properties.
In a statement signed by the convener of the forum professor Ango Abdullahi and issued to newsmen on Sunday, the forum frowns at the high rate of insecurity in the region saying that people are tired of excuses and want action.
They observed that the situation is getting worse by the day, saying it is not an exaggeration to say that the people of the region have never experienced such attack, killings and rape.
They, therefore, call on President Mohammadu Buhari as a matter of urgency to improve the security of the region and the country at large.
