The Rivers state police command have described the report on social media, of bags containing decapitated human bodies dumped in Port Harcourt as a fake news.

 

The police in a statement by its spokesperson Grace Iringe-koko, made available to newsmen, said the bags were jointly examined by the Rivers state police command and the waste management board, only to discover that the bags did not contain human parts, but debris dumped by yet-to-be identified individuals.

 

 

The debris according to the police has since been evacuated to designated dump sites in the city of Port Harcourt.

 

 

The police describes those spreading the fake news as mischief makers intending to mislead the public by causing panic and unrest, as the command warn them to desist or face the full wrath of the law.

 

 

The command also call on residents of Port Harcourt and the state at large to go about their lawful business without fear as the alarm is false.
