Police charge Nigerians on peace building through community policing

As the battle against insecurity continues, authorities of Nigeria police force have appealed to all Nigerians to support the community policing initiative for the safety of lives and property in the country.


The commissioner of police in Oyo state, Shina Olukolu who made the appeal while receiving members of a civil society group with a focus on peace and dispute resolution stated that the initiative has to a greater extent ensure peace and unity among Nigerians.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that Olukolu urged Nigerians to continue to support the police and other security agencies in the country in their bid to tackle insurgent and other vices stressing that the task of securing the nation remains the responsibility of all and sundry.

The commissioner of police appealed to Nigerians to continue to live together in peace for socio-economic development to the country.

The leader of the team, Adebobola Omowon and Titilope Adebayo also emphasized the need for a collective approach to tackling insecurity in the country adding that Nigerians should be re3ady at all times to assist police and other sister agencies with credible information.
