The police in Delta have recovered two AK-47 rifle, two pump action guns, six locally made guns and a Beretta pistol, as well as magazines and fifty eight rounds of 7.62mm ammunition were recovered from eight suspected armed robbers and kidnappers within Delta state.

This was disclosed in a statement made available to newsmen by the spokesperson Edafe Bright.

According to him, the suspects were arrested by operatives of the state Dragon patrol team while on stop and search in Asaba and Ughelli axis of the state.

One suspect was said to have died during an exchange of gunfire with the police, as his remains have been deposited at the mortuary.

Delta police commissioner Olufemi Abaniwonda applauds the commitment and dedication displayed by the officers, as he urged them to keep up the tempo in ridding the state of criminal elements.
