PDP Challenge APC Government On Accountability

The Kaduna State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) led administrations at both federal and state levels, describing their two-year leadership as a legacy of unfulfilled promises and crashed hopes.

At a world press conference themed “Kaduna State at a Crossroads”, the PDP through the State Chairman of the party, Chief Edward Percy Masha, accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani of plunging Nigerians, particularly residents of Kaduna State, into unprecedented economic and security crises.

Referring to Tinubu’s May 2023 fuel subsidy removal as “a declaration of war on the well-being of Nigerians,” the PDP claimed it worsened poverty levels and inflation, especially in Kaduna, a state already grappling with widespread insecurity and economic hardship.

Quoting a 2025 Grimm report, the opposition party highlighted Kaduna among the top three states most affected by kidnapping, with over 1,100 victims and 113 reported incidents between July 2023 and June 2024. On a national level, the PDP said over 130 million Nigerians now live in multidimensional poverty, with 13 million more at risk of starvation.
