Edo state governor Godwin Obaseki has described the outcome of the September 21st Governorship election in the state as a travesty of democracy.

The governor made the remarks in a state broadcast after the announcement of results from the eighteen local government areas of the state by the returning officer professor Faruq Adamu Kuta

He advised the citizens of the state to maintain peace and not resort to violence.

He described the electoral process leading to the victory of the All Progressives Congress candidate Monday Okpebholo as loaded with impunity.
