The new Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, Senator Abdulaziz Yar'Adua, has declared the determination of the forum to work for the unity of Nigeria.

Recall that Senator Yar'Adua, emerged as the new Chairman of the forum following the resignation of the erstwhile Chairman, Senator Abdul Ningi following his suspension by the Senate.

Galaxy tv reports that the new Chairman of the forum while addressing members of the Senate Press Corp, said the major objective of the Northern Forum is to promote the interest of Nigeria first followed by development of the North through collaboration with their counterparts from the South and cooperating with the executive arm of government to ensure that the challenges of the region are attended to

He promised to work in consultation with other colleagues to preserve the unity and progress of the nation just as he restated the committed to streamlined activities within the Northern Senators Forum.

Yar'Adua thanked his colleagues senators who voted for him as the new Chairman of the forum and he promised not to disappoint them.
