Ndume says Nigeria not serious with anti-terror war

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, Ali Ndume has faulted Nigeria’s approach in counter-insurgency noting that the budgetary allocation of 100billion for defence falls far short of what is required to get the job done.

Galaxy’s Godfrey Eshiemoghie reports that Ndume made this statement in Abuja Wednesday while addressing Senate correspondents at the sidelines of the day’s plenary at the Senate.

The Senator said the Nigerian government is yet to do enough to address the worsening humanitarian crises in areas in the Northeast that are flashpoints of insurgency where thousands have been killed, with millions displaced after fleeing their homes.

Senator Ali Ndume said Boko Haram remains a constant threat in Borno State even as many communities and towns remain unsafe for the residents to their homes any time soon.
