Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appended his assent to the 2020 appropriation bill recently passed by the House of Assembly at an estimate of 213 billion naira.

The Governor signed the budget into law at the executive council chambers of the Governor's office with members of the state executive council and some lawmakers in attendance. In an address before signing the bill into law, Governor Makinde said the budget thoroughly represent the aspirations of the people and in line with his document on road map for accelerated development of Oyo state.

Governor noted that an additional 4 billion had been added to the proposed budget which cut across capital expenditure and recurrent expenditure, adding that he remained committed to ensuring about 70% implementation of the budget while the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin expatriates on the basis for the increase.
