Governor of Enugu state Peter Mbah has approved the payment of N80, 000.00 as the new minimum wage for the state civil servants, employed under the State Government.

This was as a result of the agreement reached after the state Joint Public Service Negotiating Council, submitted its reports to the state Government for implementation.

Announcing the new wage, governor Mbah said the new minimum wage is an incentive for the workers to put in their best. Responding, the Nigerian Labour Congress Chairman Enugu state Fabian Nwigbo and his counterpart from the TUC, extolled the virtues of the governor for surpassing the federal government approved minimum wage.
