The operatives of Department of State Services (DSS), have arrested the president of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), comrade Joe Ajaero at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
According to our correspondent, the union leader was picked up early this morning while trying to board a flight to the United Kingdom for an official assignment.
Ajaero was slated to attend a conference of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) taking place in the United Kingdom on Monday.
The reasons for mr. AJAERO’s arrest is still unclear as at the time of filing this report.
Efforts to get reaction from the congress through its spokesperson Benson Upah remains abortive.
