Buhari charges military on insecurity
President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the military to contain the act of banditry which has resulted in serial killings in Taraba.
The president gave the directive during a national security council meeting held in Abuja, Thursday.
He described the incidents as unfortunate saying government will ensure that normalcy is restored in the state.
Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar who addressed journalists after the meeting said a committee will be set up by defence headquarters to critically look into the circumstances that led to the unfortunate incident with a view to finding a lasting solution to the killings.
Air Marshal Abubakar also responded to question on deployment of technology and drones to fight insecurity saying that technology will continue to play a critical role in resolving security challenges in Nigeria.
He said all the services are using one technology or the other in order to ensure that the country is secured.
The Airforce Chief also assured Nigerians that the armed forces and other security agencies would continue to work to ensure the security of Nigerians and also to ensure that no individual or group of individuals undermine the territorial integrity of Nigeria
