Benue copyright commission promises authors of tackling intellectual and creative theft
Benue state chapter of the Association of Nigerian Authors has expressed worries that the Nigeria Copyright Commission is not doing enough to stamp out those behind intellectual and creative theft in the state and the country.
The leadership of the association expressed this worries including Former Minister of Education and the 9th National President of the Association (ANA), Prof Jerry Agada, in an event mark to celebrate a writer who is the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Director Makurdi.
While the former Education minister, encourages young men and women to write books, poems and other literary works, Prof Peteru Inumidun, decried the reading culture of Nigerians stating that because of this he has instituted scholarships for literary works in some secondary schools in the state.
The event which had notable guest speakers make their presentations, the Benue zonal coordinator of Nigerian Copyright Commission, Thomas Mgbannguu, however, assured them that new leadership will ensure intellectual and property theft is stamped out.
