Army Recovers Stolen Products In Rivers
Operatives of the Nigerian Army 6 Division have recovered over seventy thousand liters of illegally refined crude oil in the Rivers community of Akuku-Toru local government area.
Acting Deputy Director of the Nigerian Army 6 Division public relations Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah in a statement, said the recovery of the products led to the deactivation of twenty nine illegal refining sites and the destruction of fourteen boats.
According to the Army, one massive wooden boat with over fifty thousand liters of crude oil was also Intercepted, as well as cooking pots used for illegal activities by oil thieves.
Some cars with illegally refined crude oil concealed in sacks were also confiscated, as the occupants are presently undergoing investigations at the 6 Division headquarters in Port Harcourt the Rivers state capital.
The GOC 6 Division Nigerian Army Major General Jamal Abdulsalam while commending officers and men of the Nigerian Army, said they will not relent until crude oil theft and all forms of criminality in the Niger Delta region are brought to the barest minimum.
