Alleged Money Laundering: Court Rules On Maina's Bail February 1

A federal high court sitting in Abuja has adjourned to 1st February 2021 for hearing in the bail application filed by the former chairman of the defunct pension reform task team Abdulrasheed Maina.

Trial judge, Justice Okon Abang adjourned the case shortly after counsel in the matter announced appearances.

The court noted that it is not convenient for it to hear the bail application this Wednesday.

Maina had on 24th December 2020, filed a bail application on grounds of deteriorating health which requires urgent medical attention.

In the motion on notice, the defendant outlined four grounds for consideration by the court, one of which was his collapse in open court on 10th December 2020 due to his health condition and that he now has responsible surety or sureties to stand for him if granted bail.
