NSCDC impound trucks loaded with crude oil
In its resolve to fight all forms of illegal activities such as illegal refinery and crude oil theft, operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps Rivers state command have impounded trucks loaded with crude oil, while also parading twenty-one suspected oil thieves arrested in the creeks of the state.
The suspects who were paraded at the command headquarters in Port Harcourt alongside their operational trucks and exhibits include a woman who was also arrested in the line of duty.
Addressing newsmen, the state commandant of the NSCDC Muktar Lawal said the suspects were arrested as a result of joint efforts by security operatives.
He calls for cooperation among residents in the state as some of the paraded suspects spoke on their innocence.
The suspects according to the NSCDC commandant will face prosecution as the recovered items will be used as evidence against them in the court of law.
