Consumers Protection: CBN Recovers 6billion

The central Bank of Nigeria has declared that it has recovered about six billion naira from commercial banks arising from its consumers protection department established by the apex bank.

The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Tunde Lemo who disclosed this in Abeokuta during a presentation to ogun state government on Cashless Nigeria: the Journey so far stated that as from june 1st 2013 the apex bank would place an embargo on third party cheaques across the counters in all the commercial banks across the country.

Correspondent kunle ojo reports that the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria who was received by the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Prince Segun Adesegun equally appealed to ogun state government to key in into the cashless policy in order to ensure equity, service delivery and prevent corruption.
